In November 2017, Sarah Laird and Bio-economy Chair holder Rachel Wynberg undertook a fact-finding scoping study for the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity. With contributions from Arash Iranzadeh and Anna Sliva Kooseron, their draft document is titled: The Emergence and Growth of Digital Sequence Information in Research and Development: Implications for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Biodiversity, and Fair and Equitable Benefit Sharing.
